little pieces 

i miss you in pieces - 
little pieces at a time 
i trust my grief decreases 
with each tear that i cry

i know, i cannot feel it 
all at once; so i 
find it’s easier to deal-
a little piece at a time. 

i miss you in pieces -  
little pieces at a time 
scared you will fade. 
like pictures in the light

i hold and carry with me 
these thoughts of mine; 
and let my heart miss you -
a little piece at a time.
