Paper Dolls

Paper Dolls

you filled my ears
with water down words
until there was no room
no room for thoughts
except for those
you charmed me to assume

you convinced me then
to be unconcerned
with your splintered lies
and as it turns out
you were only smooth
to my naked eye

well…all of this was
just white paper dolls
laying on the ground
until a west wind
carried your scent
and blew me all around

once more this matters
and i am broken
with scissors in my hand
desperately cutting
away at my hurt
for a white paper doll strand
